Multifunctional, with intelligent energy management

The MultiPlus combines in a single compact package a powerful sinusoidal converter, a sophisticated charger with adaptive charging technology and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch. In addition to these basic functions, the MultiPlus offers many of the advanced features described below.

Parallel and three-phase operating capacity

Up to 6 Multi can run in parallel to get more power output.
In addition to parallel connection, three units can be configured for a three-phase output.

PowerControl – Adapting to the limits of a generator, dock or mains

The Multi Control control panel makes it possible to limit the power to be supplied by the dock or by the generator. The MultiPlus then takes into account the demand for output AC power and will only use the excess for charging, thus avoiding any overload of the dock or a generator.

PowerAssist – More power provided by the dock or generator

This function gives an additional dimension to the principle of powerControl by allowing the MultiPlus to complete the capacity of the alternative source. If a high demand for peak power is required for a short period of time, the MultiPlus helps ensure that the lack of power from the grid or generator is immediately compensated by energy.

Four-step adaptive charging and charging two battery banks

The main output provides a powerful charge to the battery system through advanced "adaptive charging" software. The software adjusts the three steps of the automatic process to adapt to the state of the battery, and it adds a fourth for long "Float" charging periods. The adaptive charging process is detailed in the Phoenix Charger data sheet and on our website, in the Technical Information section. In addition, the MultiPlus will charge a
second battery using a compensation charging output provided for a main start battery motor or generator.

High starting power

Necessary to start loads with a high in-call current such as power converters for LED bulbs, halogens or power tools.

Search Mode

If Search mode is in the "on" position, the converter's power consumption is reduced by about 70% if no load is available. Thanks to this mode, when the Multi is operating in converter mode, it is stopped in case of no charge or very low load, and then turned on every two seconds for a short time. If the charging current exceeds the set level, the converter continues to operate. Otherwise, the converter stops again.

Programmable relay

By default, the programmable relay is configured as an alarm relay, that is, the relay is defused in case of alarm or pre-alarm (converter almost too hot, input ripple almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).

Once installed, the MultiPlus is ready to use.

Parameters that can be changed using DIP switches: battery charging voltage / search mode. For more settings, use VE. Config or VE dongle. Smart Bus.

Remote configuration and supervision

Install a Cerbo GX or other GX product for internet connection.
Operating data may be stored and displayed on our free VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.
If the systems are connected to the Internet, they can be accessed remotely and configured
