Charge regulators
A solar charge controller is a device that controls the flow of energy from the solar panels to the solar battery. It ensures that the battery is optimally charged by regulating the voltage and current. The regulator protects the battery from overcharging and overdischarging, helping to extend its life. Some regulators also offer additional functions such as displaying the battery's state of charge and managing several energy sources.
There are two types of solar controller on the market: PWM solar controllers and MPPT solar controllers.
PWM solar regulators are highly efficient and optimise battery charging. They currently offer the best value for money of all the regulators available.
