Isolated Charger Orion-Tr Smart CC-CC
It can be used in dual battery systems embedded in vehicles or boats, and for which the alternator (smart) and starter battery are used to recharge the service battery. The unit can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth, and can be controlled remotely using a remote ignition and shutdown switch. In addition, it has a mechanism to detect whether the engine is running or not.
The Orion Tr-Smart charger can be used in 12- or 24-V systems, and it adapts to both lead and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400W power, and an unlimited number of multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output power.
These chargers can be operated under temperature conditions of up to 55oC, with a full rated output up to 40oC.
Bluetooth Smart enabled
Devices such as smartphones, tablets or other devices with Bluetooth enabled can be used to monitor the charger, change its settings and update it if new software features are available.
Fully programmable
- Battery charge algorithm (configurable) or fixed output.
- Compatibility with an intelligent alternator: engine detection mechanism in operation.
3-step adaptive charging algorithm: bulk - absorption - float
For lead batteries, it is important that during partial discharges, the absorption time is short to avoid overloading the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure a complete recharge of the battery.
For lithium batteries, the absorption time is fixed, and 2 hours by default.
Otherwise, a fixed output voltage can be chosen.
Suitable for use in vehicles equipped with an intelligent alternator (Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines)
The integrated engine shutdown detection function will stop the converter when the engine is not running.
This prevents the starter battery from unloading inadvertently (see manual for more details).
Lighting/Remote Shutdown
An ignition switch/remote shutdown or relay contact can be connected to a connector at two poles.
Otherwise, the H terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the positive battery terminal; or the L terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to the negative battery terminal (or the chassis of a vehicle for example.)
All models are protected from short circuits and can be installed in parallel to increase the output current
An unlimited number of units can be connected in parallel.
Protection from high temperatures
The output current will be reduced in case of high ambient temperature.
Protection IP43
If the installation is done with screw terminals facing down.
